Bodies of 5 robbers killed in Tabuk taken back home

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The bodies of the five suspected robbers killed during a shoot-out in Barangay Malalao on April 28 were claimed by their family on April 30, 2022.

The 5 suspects were all from Mexico, Pampanga and were identified as Ian Salutin Zulueta, the driver; Jose Sarro Libreja Jr.; Joel Mengote Fajardo; Eric Orquia Acodesin; and Terio Orquia Acodesin.

Said individuals were suspected members of a robbery and hold-up gang operating in regions 2, 3 and 4. They were pursued by the police after allegedly firing their guns and attempting to run-over some of the police officers at an anti-criminality checkpoint in Barangay Bulo.

The chase led the suspects and the operatives to Purok 5, Malalao where the shoot-out happened.

Said incident resulted in the instant death of Zulueta and Libreja while Fajardo, Eric, and Terio were rushed to the hospital in Agbannawag where they were declared dead.

Background investigation reveals that Fajardo, Eric, and Terio were drug surrenderees in Mexico, Pampanga last 2016.

Also, the 23 bricks recovered from the vehicle used by the suspects were positive to be marijuana according to the result of the laboratory examination of the items.
