Young soldier dies in Baguio Loakan Access Road accident

Baguio City, Philippines - A 26-year old member of the Philippine Army died due to a motorcycle accident early morning of Monday, June 20, 2022.

Police identified the victim as Private First Class Mark John Ayde, single and a native of Ilocos Sur, currently assigned at the Philippine Military Academy, Baguio City.

Investigation disclosed that the victim fell with his motorcycle into a drainage along the diversion of Airport Road in Loakan Baguio City while on his way to work.

The soldier slid while riding, unable to control his motorcycle.

The victim was reportedly not wearing a helmet during the accident, and it was said that his head hit the road gutter which caused him severe head injury leading to his death.

The victim was immediately rushed to the Baguio General Hospital with the help of Baguio Emergency Medical Service personnel, but the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.

The victim’s body underwent postmortem procedures at the hospital’s morgue before it was brought home by relatives.
