Alfonso Lista, Ifugao―Succeeding the reintegration and independent functioning within their families and communities and preventing the recurrence of drug abuse or relapse, 184 recovering drug personalities (RDPs) graduated from the 18 month Aftercare Program in Alfonso Lista, Ifugao.

Moving-up ceremony was held at Alfonso Lista Municipal compound this November 25.

Department of Social Welfare and Development Undersecretary (DSWD) Jose Antonio Hernandez congratulates graduates and lauded them for their accomplishment as he hopes they become an inspiration to many.

The second graduation is attended by families of the RDPs and government and local officials with DSWD Undersecretary Jose Antonio Hernandez as guest speaker represented by his staff.

Aftercare Program (ACP) refers to services that help recovering drug dependent persons to adapt to everyday community life, after completing earlier phases of treatment and rehabilitation.

It is a continuation of the rehabilitation process within the community after discharge from a treatment facility. The aftercare and follow-up program facilitates the client’s reintegration to the community and prevents relapse into drug dependency.

Said program is pursuant under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in consultation and coordination with the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and other agencies in drug control, treatment and rehabilitation.
