245 ARBs, 4Ps beneficiaries in Kalinga get various livelihood aid

Tabuk City, Kalinga – 245 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and at the same time Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program members in the province benefit from the Convergence for Livelihood Assistance and ARBs Program (CLAAP) this year.

Over in Balbalan and Lubuagan, 85 beneficiaries for Rice and Swine Feeds Trading who received 3 breeders and 1 boar each. Meantime, 160 beneficiaries from Barangays Bilong and Bangad for Tinglayan, Barangay Mabungtut in Lubuagan and Barangay Ammacian in Pinukpuk received Chicken and Egg Production.

The beneficiaries for Chicken and Egg Production were each given 18 female and 5 male free-range chickens, 2 poultry feeder, 3 poultry drinker, and 1 cavan of corn grits.

CLAAP is a joint project by the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Agrarian Reform , a complementation project on the on-going Sustainable Livelihood Program of DSWD which is meant to reduce poverty among marginalized sector.

Agrarian Reform Program Officer Jocelyn Dumatog said the project has a total fund of over Php 4 million. Dumatog said the aid is designed to help the beneficiaries be provided with additional source of income.

She encouraged the beneficiaries to take good care of the given seed capital assistance for it to serve its purpose.

“ Ipapati da kuma, aywanan da ken paaduwen da tapnu makatulong da iti pamilya da , umadu income ken mabalin da ishare iti dadduma nga makasapul,” the Agrarian officer said.

“Nu mayat ti pamay-an da ket makita ti dadduma nga agency ket maayatan da, mabalin da met nga tumulung,” she added.

The Memorandum Of Agreement of the partnership of DSWD and DAR for said joint project was signed on January 2018 at the DSWD Auditorium, Quezon City.
