Ilagan, Isabela – Your nearest kin could be your killer – this happened to a 34 year old man who was killed by his uncle in Ilagan, Isabela.

The man was shot to death by his uncle on Sunday night, September 15, resulting in his early demise.

The victim was identified by Isabela police as Reyjun Mina, a resident of Barangay Santa Isabel Sur, Ilagan.

Investigation conducted by the police revealed that before the shooting transpired, Reyjun and his uncle, identified as Richard Mina, argued over unknown reasons around 2:00 p.m. of said day.

Their relatives were able to pacify the fight, but at around 9:00 p.m., Richard went to Reyjun's house and started challenging him again.

Reyjun came out of their house thinking that his 48-year-old uncle only wanted to discuss things, but what he didn't expect, according to a witness narrative, was that Richard had a gun. Richard suddenly shot his nephew in the head killing him instantly.

Upon notification, police immediately proceeded to the place and arrested Richard. A 12-gauge shotgun he used in the crime was recovered from him.
