6 men rob grocery store in Tuguegarao City

Cagayan, Philippines – Six men, most of them from Cordillera allegedly robbed a grocery store in Tuguegarao City on Wednesday, February 8, the Police Regional Office 2 reported.


Four of the six suspects are from Kalinga and Mountain Province.

It was past 3:30 a.m. of the said day when the police were notified about unknown men who entered a grocery store in Buntun.


Arriving at the area, the police were able to arrest two of the suspects while the rest escaped. Later on, the other suspects were cornered in Enrile, Cagayan.

Police Regional Office 2 relayed that two of the suspects were arrested first by the Tuguegarao City police. They were identified and hidden under the name ‘Roy’, 21, a resident of Sadanga, and ‘Jojo’, 34, from Rizal, Kalinga.


Authorities disclosed that Roy was carrying an ARMSCOR caliber 45 pistol loaded with ammunition, a magazine, and 3 sachets of suspected shabu. Jojo, on the other hand, was caught with a hand grenade.

With the escape of the other suspects, nearby police stations were alerted. This resulted in the arrest of 3 men in Roma Norte, Enrile, and the confiscation of 2 sachets believed to be shabu, a hand grenade, and P40,050 cash.


These men were ‘MoyMoy, 48, a resident of Sagada; ‘Bong’, 47, from Bontoc; and ‘Lino’.


The remaining suspect, ‘Tony’ who was supposed to fetch his companions was also nabbed by the police around 11:00 a.m.
