Baguio City and part of Benguet selected as setting of ‘Suntok sa Buwan’ movie series

Baguio City, Philippines – Suntok sa Buwan movie series aired by TV5 Network selected the summer capital of the Philippines and parts of Benguet as locations for filming featuring some scenic places and destinations.

Said movie series started to broadcast on July 18, 2022, at 7:15 PM on TV5.

The movie concept shows the story of a father and son relationship, and how they overcome life’s challenges that test their trust and the strength of their bond.

Aga Muhlach, multi-awarded actor, Elija Canlas, Gawad Urian Best actor together with Maris Racal were the main cast.

According to Muhlach, he was excited about doing the filming when he was informed that Baguio City was the location of the movie set.

The veteran actor further revealed that the city holds a special place in his heart, which made him immediately accept the project.

In the film series, Muhlach played the life of a retired boxer currently working as a taxi driver in Baguio City.

They called him Jimmy Boy, a father of a young boxer named Dos played by Elija Canlas.

The story unfolds with Jimmy revealing to his son that he has been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. Jimmy made the revelation after he got arrested due to involvement with a criminal group. The father ended up in prison.

‘Suntok sa Buwan’ was the first movie series aired on Philippine television through TV5 directed by Geo Lomuntad and produced by award-winning tandem Antoinette Jadaone and Dan Villegas and co-produced by Project 8 Projects and Cignal Entertainment.

Another series that features Baguio City was the ‘Broken Marriage Vow’ with Jodi Sta. Maria and Zanjoe Marudo as the main cast.
