Baguio reports jabbing 55% of eligible population, aims full immunization by December


Baguio City, Philippines – Fifty-five percent of Baguio City’s eligible population targeted to receive the Covid-19 jab were now fully vaccinated, says City Health Services Office through Baguio City Public Information Office.


In a report, there are around 281,000 individuals in the city who are eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Of this population, 55.20% have already been fully vaccinated since the start of vaccination rollout in March to September, while 69.44% had the first dose.


As the city aims to achieve 70% full immunization or to fully immunize around 196,700 individuals by November 6, at least 1,070 second doses of vaccine must be administered daily until the said date.

Moreover, through the available vaccines and the efforts of the health workers to vaccinate the populace in open vaccination sites, the 281,000 eligible population is seen to be fully immunized by December 4. To achieve this, it was reported that there is a need to administer 22,984 doses weekly with 9,439 for first while 13,485 for the second dose until December.


Meantime, vaccines given to the people include J and J, Gamaleya, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sinovac, and Moderna vaccine brands.


As of October 1, there are 311 new Covid-19 cases in Baguio City, bringing the total active cases to 4,401.
