City Councilor Amla requests P30M fund for evacuation center in Tabuk

Tabuk City, Kalinga – City Councilor Julius Amla in a resolution has requested allocation of P30,000,000 fund from Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) for the construction of evacuation center in the city.


Amla, in an interview, said that the construction of said center is not included in the budget and that the City Local Government Unit can only provide a lot where the building will be constructed.


“Haan nga nakabudget dagita iti pondo tayo. Isunga kailangan nga agsource out tayo iti pondo iti sabali pay nga agency,” he said.


The City Councilor added that they are planning to place the evacuation center in Barangay Appas since many people in the said area and its neighbours evacuate during typhoon and other disasters.


“Asideg nga mapanan da pag evacuate an nu adda iti typhoon,” he said.


Meanwhile, the resolution cited, “among the priorities of the City of Tabuk is the acquisition of evacuation center to be resilient in any calamities and to protect the welfare of its people as mandated by R.A. 7160 and R.A 10121.”


It further stated that the evacuation center will ensure the safety of the people in times of calamities and disasters.


Additionally, the evacuation center shall also serve other purposes such as isolation center during pandemic, multipurpose building for assemblies, meetings, seminars, socio cultural activities, sports, and others.
