DICT and PLGU Kalinga offer free training on website development and management


Tabuk City, Kalinga – A free three-day online training on website development and management using the prescribed government templates for all information technologists of the Provincial and municipal Local Government Units and from different national-line agencies in the province will be conducted on March 3-5, 2021.


In a report by PIO Kalinga, it said the training sponsored by the Provincial Governor’s office and the Department of Information and Communications Technology aims to train selected LGU and other government employees on said aspect in support to the government’s move in establishing data portal for all government offices (data.gov.ph), making information more accessible to the general public.

With the website serving as the main source of all government documents and information, the public can request data, receive updates on their requests and gain access to datasets and documents from the government.


To participate in the training, trainees are required to have with them laptops with operating system of windows 7-10 and having at least 2GB RAM, strong internet connection, and an email address.


Participants are also encouraged to make sure that they have installed either Google meet app or Zoom app in their computers for the training.

What is a government web template?


The government web template is an initiative of the Philippine Government to institutionalize a corporate online identity for all government websites through a standard design, navigation, and content as government websites are useful tools in improving the delivery of timely and relevant information and services to its citizens.


Said template is one of the components of the iGovPhil Project that aims to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and transparency of the government through the use of interactive, interconnected, and interoperable government applications.
