Gun shooter from Abra graduated top of his class in US Marine Corps

Abra, Philippines – A young gun shooter from Bangued, Abra continues to make his hometown and home country proud.

 

Mark Jespher Estudillo has been an achiever and his brilliance has earned him a place in the United States Marine Corp.

 

From February 12 to April 1 this year, he finished the rigorous drills and training at the US Army Ordnance Corps to graduate top of his class, with an academic average of 98.81 percent.

 

During their graduation at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia, Estudillo was recognized as an “honor graduate” in acknowledgment of his high endeavor and superior accomplishment while enrolled in the course of study.

 

He rose to Lance Corporal, the third enlisted rank in the Marine Corps, equivalent to a Private First Class in the Army.


Lance Corporal Estudillo was likewise awarded with certificate of commendation for his outstanding achievement in the performance of duties while serving as a student in the ammunition technician specialist course class 616-24.

 

Throughout his training, he was said to have performed his demanding duties in an exemplary and highly professional manner. His professionalism and positive "can do" attitude was demonstrated by graduating as the distinguished honor graduate in the class.

 

“Lance Corporal Estudillo's outstanding motivation and dedication to duty reflected credit on him and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service,” reads the citation.

 

In a statement through his social media account, he gave credit to have had “amazing teacher and class.”

 

As a Lance Corporal, he is now expected to further hone his skills and core values while serving as leader and role model for newly enlisted recruits.
