Kalinga police holds blood-letting drive to help maintain adequacy of blood

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Philippine National Police personnel along with some civilians donated blood at the Camp Juan M Duyan Friday, March 5 as a way to help individuals in dire need of blood.

PLtCol. Richard Gadingan, Chief PCAD of Kalinga Police Provincial Office said that the activity is to add to the blood supply in the province, mentioning that the blood-letting has become a regular event at the KPPO in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross – Kalinga.

“We all know that giving blood or donating blood could save life. Nakita naman natin na from time to time, meron tayong mga nangangailangan ng dugo,” he said, noting the many cases of the need of blood donors due to vehicular traffic accidents particularly in Tabuk City.

“We also encourage the civilians to donate blood. Ang purpose naman ng blood na ito ay para sa mga kababayan natin sa Kalinga na nangangailangan ng dugo,” he added.

Meantime, at least 13,500 cc of blood were taken from the activity today. The KPPO said they are set to have another round of bloodletting activity on the 4th quarter of 2021.

Willing blood donors can visit the Office of PRC Kalinga

PRC – Kalinga Chief Raymund Mario Chan said that every day, there are people who need blood. And thus, despite the pandemic, Chan is encouraging those who are able to participate in blood donation activities.

“In behalf of all the beneficiaries of your blood dakamin apo ti agyaman ken ni apo ti mangted ti blessings ken karadkad kadayo amin," he added.
