Tabuk City, Kalinga―Provincial Land Transportation Office (LTO) through LTO-Kalinga Head Jenelyn Angog warned the public against online fixers offering ‘no appearance’ services for application or renewal of driver’s license in exchange of fees.

These fixers usually offer their services through various social media groups and websites such as Facebook, saying they will facilitate driver’s licenses application or renewal with less hassles and at a faster rate than usual.

Angog strongly appealed to the public not to entertain those services being offered by fixers online as she guaranteed those won’t be given credence by any of the LTO branch offices.

“Because all of our transactions require physical appearance, nu kunada nga alaen da laeng ti signature and print ti thumb mark, saan nga mabalin because LTO is using biometrics and it needs 10 fingerprints. I believe that God created us with no duplicate finger prints. Kakailiyan nga taga Kalinga saan kayo ma allilaw kadagita offer da,” she said.

Moreover, she said that individuals should not fall for these kinds of online services especially when they involve a huge amount of money.

“Delikado ti kasta, we should be vigilant especially if merong involve na huge amount of money as down payment. Baka mas malaki pa ang down payment mo sa actual na payment mo na babayaran mo lang dapat sa LTO,” she said.

“Besides, it is not wise to just give your personal details, your signatures and thumbprints to people. So far, awan met ti kasta nga naranaan mi nga fixers ta bagaan tayu kuma e. So nagtataka ako saan nila kaya dinadala ang mga narecruit nilang nag-a-acquire ng driver's license,” she added.

Meanwhile, LTO launched its Land Transportation Management System last year, 2020 which has been used to offer Online Appointment for scheduling in a bid to speed up some of their processes.

Earlier last year, July 15, 2020, three men were arrested in separate entrapment operations for allegedly selling fake drivers' licenses at Barangay San Vicente, Baguio City.
