Lubuagan Catholic organizations to host special mass for a peaceful election


Lubuagan, Kalinga – Before the people of Lubuagan go out to vote on Monday, a Special Mass for a peaceful and meaningful elections shall be held at the St. Peter’s Church Lubuagan on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at 8:30 AM.

The mass has been organized and initiated by the Cofradia Del Santo Nino De Cebu Lubuagan Chapter, St. Peter’s Church choir, St. Theresita's School Lubuagan Alumni Association, and other catholic organizations in the municipality.

According to one of the organizers, Dr. Rey Aranca, the holding of a Special Mass has been a practice in Lubuagan before the casting of ballots. This is to provide a venue to pray for an honest, orderly, and peaceful election day on May 9.


All political candidates vying for different political posts in Lubuagan are invited to attend the Special Mass.

“It is a prayer for meaningful and peaceful elections and dagitoy candidates from Lubuagan are all invited to attend daytoy mass tapos we hope na before the elections, for the last time kuma, ket ag-shake hands da as a sign of kasla ngay nga nu competition ket it’s a friendly competition,” he explained.

He further said that the political candidates will also be signing a commitment of peace at the said event.


Aranca clarified that the prayer is not for certain candidates, but rather it is a prayer for all. It is a prayer for a harmonious and smooth election day in Lubuagan.
