Lubuagan, Tabuk City – The Municipal Health Office (MHO) of Lubuagan started its vaccination roll out for children ages 12 to 17 years old on Monday, November 22, 2021, at the Municipal Gymnasium.

The MHO, in a press release, stated that the health office has been able to administer the first jab of anti-COVID-19 vaccine to a total of 187 minors of the said age bracket of which 178 of the children received Pfizer's pediatric vaccine and 9 others with Moderna vaccine.

The MHO also informed that the children were accompanied by their parents and guardians as part of the vaccination protocol for minors.

“Minors are more excited to have their shot and positively looking forward to getting back to school in the future,” the MHO expressed.

Earlier, the Local Government Unit of Lubuagan (LGU) admitted that they have been battling hesitancy among the people triggered by misinformation regarding the vaccines. The MHO said during Monday’s Kapehan that their campaign effort to reach the Covid-19 vaccination target of 70% before the end of December this year shall continue. Lubuagan, as of press time, logged that only 35.45% of its population are vaccinated.

Mayor Charisma Anne Dickpus likewise said that the local government is doing a stringent information education campaign to encourage more people to get vaccinated, adding that the vaccination rollout is crucial for faster recovery from the pandemic so that everyone can go about their normal lives.

The mayor further encouraged parents of unvaccinated minors to come forward, as their being immunized will not only provide protection to the children but also allow normal life to return.

Meantime, the vaccination for ages 12-17 years old shall be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Names of children to be vaccinated shall be submitted first to the MHO for their vaccination schedule. Valid ID of the students/PSA/NSO, Vaccination card of parents/guardians, and their presence are also a requirement during the vaccination.
