Non-essential travels to Baguio City suspended today until Sep 19

Baguio City, Philippines – Those planning to visit Baguio may have to re-schedule as non-essential travels to the city will not be allowed starting September 3 to September 19 as ordered by Mayor Benjamin Magalong.


According to Public Information Office – City of Baguio, Magalong has ordered the 16-day suspension of non-essential travels to Baguio City as part of the control measure to address the surge of Covid-19 cases in the city.


The order extends to all areas regardless of the quarantine classification.


Authorized Persons Outside of Residence or APOR, on the other hand, are allowed to enter the city provided that they comply with the city’s protocol requirements.


As of 5:00 PM of September 1, 2021, the city logged 116 new cases bringing the total active cases in Baguio City to 904. Moreover, the city has cumulative Covid-19 cases of 17,618 with 16,368 recoveries and 346 deaths.


Additionally, Baguio City has tested 235,497 individuals for Covid-19.
