The 503rd Infantry Brigade identified the cadre as a certain Wilfredo Gaayon or Jaz/Jas/GG/Jandi, squad leader of squad uno of the Kilusang Larangan Guerilya - AMPIS, ICRC.

Gaayon and a certain Ernesto Lucaben were killed during a 30-minute gunfight with the military in Barangay Mainit on September 28 after the locals reported to the troops about their group’s presence in their community.

Hahanapan nila ng assistance coming from the PSWD office dito sa Kalinga,” he said.
