Outgoing Kalinga-PNP PD Limmong shares secret in leading police force

Updated: Jan 17, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – In his final day as the Provincial Police Director in Kalinga Province, Police Colonel Davy Limmong shared his secret in leading more than a thousand police force of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office which enabled him to rally the troop into reducing the crime volume at the same time making the image of the police more likeable to the community.

During his term, no Kalinga Police have been reported having been involved in criminal activities, neither was there a loss of life in various life-threatening operations.

Limmong said his secret is just being with his personnel, available and approachable, and working with them on the ground, even if it means joining them in police operations.

As he relinquished his position as the Provincial Director of the Kalinga Police Provincial Office (KPPO) this January 14, Limmong recalled how he enjoyed making his police force feel he is one with them in sustaining the peace and order in Kalinga.

Among the operations he joined include climbing the mountains to go to the disputed area of the Butbut and Betwagan Tribes twice to see the situation himself and he also climbed the Sulfur Mountain in Pasil.

Further, he had been with his police to various areas of Kalinga for marijuana eradication, which challenged his aging body for long hikes and unwanted mountain weather.

Limmong expressed that while he has nothing to prove as a leader, he said he tried to give his best in serving Kalinga.

“I have nothing to prove to you as a leader but I know I have done my best working daily, [I] never stopped thinking what more I can do to serve our people in this province to keep them safe and secured in this time of health crisis,” he conveyed.

Police Colonel Limmong was appointed as the Kalinga Police Director on May 1, 2020, and was relieved this January 8, 2022, since the PNP mandates reshuffling or replacement of commanders who have been in command for more than one year during the election period.
