Pasil and Kalinga Schools Division Office honors retired teachers

Pasil, Kalinga - The local government of Pasil, through Municipal Mayor Alfredo “Chao-ig” Malannag Jr., paid tribute to the retired teachers in the locality during the 2021 First District Teachers’ Congress in Kalinga conducted on December 6, 2021 at the Evacuation Center in Tucol, Pasil. Malannag commended the ‘honorees’ for their significant role in molding the youth, resulting in the growth of the learners’ family, community, and the municipality as a whole. The 11 recognized honorees were retired teachers Ana Tocyapao, Antonina Pinading, Cecilia Gamongan, Elsie Manggad, Felomina Dumaguing, Gonzalo Limto, Jane Mandy Mosing, Josephine Badongun, Julio Sawil, Lucia Pasodan, and Pacita Padua.

Also acknowledged is a retiree from Pasil National High school, Erlinda Bulaay. Initiated by the mayor, all retired teachers received tokens, gifts, and cakes. In his message, Malannag recognized the sacrifices and efforts that retired teachers have put into their profession. He stressed that the wisdom the honorees imparted to the youth of Pasil is priceless, which they would carry as valuable lessons throughout their lives.

Malannag congratulated the retired teachers for teachings beyond the corners of the classroom and for helping the youth achieve their goals in life. Meanwhile, Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) of Kalinga, Amador Garcia Sr., who graced the event, lauded the support shown by the Pasil LGU to the teachers which, he said, has played a crucial part in attaining their sector’s mission. “Sa ating mga retirees, maraming salamat dahil nag-iwan kayo ng napakagandang aral at legasiya para sa ating mga kapwa guro,” added the Division Superintendent.

Officer-in-charge- Assistant SDS Jerry Ymson encouraged the active teachers in the municipality to “adhere to the advice of the honorees and accept the positive influence that they give.” The teachers and officials sang their tribute compositions to the retired teachers as an expression of gratitude for their service.
