Teen raped 160 times while mother is overseas

Cagayan, Philippines – A man in Peñablanca is accused of raping his teenage step-daughter around 160 times, while her mother is working abroad.

The 36-year-old suspect, who is Cagayan Valley’s top most wanted person, was arrested on the morning of November 2 in Barangay Nanguilattan, Peñablanca, after police served his arrest warrant for 160 counts of rape.

According to the Police Regional Office 2 – Regional Public Information Office, the victim was left under the custody of the suspect, her step-father, when her mother went abroad to work in 2017.

While under the care of the suspect, the victim disclosed that it was in September 2019 that her step-father started to sexually abuse her while she was sleeping inside her room. The victim was only 13 years old at that time.

The incident did not stop there because the suspect repeatedly raped her four times a week until June 25, 2020.

The victim revealed to the police she was threatened by the suspect that he was going to kill her should she report the incidents to anyone.

On July 3, 2020, the abuse had finally reached the police when the victim, together with her aunt, went to report the suspect to the Peñablanca Police Station. After reporting her step-father, the victim has been advised to undergo a genital examination at the Municipal Health Office.

On October 4, 2021, the suspect’s arrest warrant was issued by the court with no bail recommended.

After the suspect’s arrest this November 2, he was subjected to documentation at Peñablanca Police Station before his turn-over to the court who issued his warrant of arrest.
