Tricycle drivers in Kalinga to receive P500 fuel assistance

Updated: Oct 13, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Department of Interior and Local Government-Kalinga informed on Thursday, May 5, 2022, that tricycle drivers in Kalinga shall receive cash assistance for fuel.

The deadline for the submission of the official list of registered tricycle drivers for the fuel subsidy program is extended until May 11, 2022.

The announcement was made through a memorandum by DILG Provincial Director Engr. Max Meyer Adong addressed to the local chief executives of Pinukpuk, Rizal and Tabuk.

The list, once validated, shall be the basis of the Department of Transportation-Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (DOTr-LTFRB) in granting fuel subsidy to the identified beneficiaries who were greatly affected by the petroleum price hike.

The Fuel Subsidy Program or Pantawid Pasada Program will be granting qualified drivers, fuel assistance amounting to P6,500.

Under said program, the drivers applying for e-wallet accounts will be allowed 2 to 3 days to comply with the verification process set by their preferred service provider but are reminded to make sure that the e-wallet account is named after the intended beneficiary for COA (Commission on Audit) purposes.

If e-wallet account is unavailable, drivers are encouraged to receive their subsidy over the counter through the nearest accessible Landbank Branch in their municipality, not needing an LPB account.

If there is no Landbank Branch in the location of the tricycle driver-beneficiaries, Landbank will conduct an onsite pay-out distribution center, provided that they give their Driver's License Number and the address of the Landbank branch nearest to them.

LGUs, on the other hand, will identify if their beneficiaries will avail of the subsidy at the nearest Landbank branch or if they prefer a Landbank onsite pay-out distribution in their respective LGUs.

Adong also reminded that Driver's License Number is required to be included in the updated form of beneficiaries for additional validation, and the recommended mode of disbursement of the subsidy.

Further, LGUs were ordered to finalize their updated official list to remove duplicated entries, correct erroneous entries, and completely fill out missing data in their reporting forms.
