Two students killed in Tuba, Benguet road mishap

Tuba, Benguet – Two young men died following a head-on collision along the Marcos Highway in Badiwan, Poblacion in Tuba Wednesday noon.

The incident happened 20 minutes after 12:00 noon on March 15, Tuba police stated.

An investigation by the police showed that students Minglana Cabanilla and Kyle Daryll Ducusin Padilla came from Baguio City and were traversing Marcos Highway on a motorcycle.

As they reached the place of the incident, the motorcycle allegedly overshot causing it to encroach the opposite lane and crash head-on against the incoming truck which was heading to Baguio City.

The impact of the collision caused serious injuries to the students resulting in their death. They were rushed to the hospital but were pronounced dead by the attending physician.

Meantime, the driver of the truck, Mark Christian Leal Navarro of La Union was unharmed. He was taken to Tuba Municipal Police Station.
