Updated: Jan 24, 2022

Tanudan, Kalinga – Restoration of Bodong between Lubuagan and Lubo, Tanudan would keep the young generation away from being a victim of the 7-decade tribal conflict, says Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag during the Sipat between the two tribes on January 19.

“Daytoy ket talaga nga plano mi ken mayor Ann Ann idi sakbay pay lang ti pandemic. Ket nu agkitkita kami ti seminar, ket isuna piman ti mangibagbaga nga kitan tayo man nu adda mabalinan na ket iyayos tayon tun,” Dagadag recalled.

He added that even it has been almost 73 years since the Bodong was severed between the two tribes, he is delighted that the two tribes are very much willing to bring back their peace pact.

“Ket dayta unay ti kayat tayo nga mangyari iti ili tayo, diay awan kuma ti madi nga mangmangyari tapnu ti kasta ket nasayaat iti ili,” he added.

Dagadag then expressed that among his prayers while the Bodong is yet to be restored, is for the young generation not to become a victim of the conflict.

“Agus-uskwela ti uubbing tayo, uubbing grade six satu maaramid ti tribal war, isun tu ti biktima. Pinapadakkel mo ti ubing mo ket isun tu ti biktima iti daytoy nga tribal war, isu nga talaga nga sumupporta ak ken dagiay kailyan nga taga Lubo tapnu maikkan ti Bodong tapnu pumintas ti relasyon ti Lubuagan ken Lubo,” he expressed.

The Bodong of Lubo, Tanudan and Lubuagan was broken in 1949.
