Lubuagan, Kalinga – Mayor Charisma Ann Dickpus expressed determination to end 7-decade conflict between Lubuagan and Lubo, Tanudan saying, “haan tayo nga padasen, talaga nga aramiden tayo.”

Dickpus exchanged peace token with Tanudan Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag during the Sipat between the two tribes held this January 19, a first step to restoring the Bodong between Lubuagan and Lubo.

During the pre-discussion with the elders of both tribes on the said date, Mayor Dickpus narrated that she and Mayor Dagadag had long planned the event, however, they had to put it on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Nabayag nga plano mi ken Mayor Jaedicke hanggang naabutan ti daytoy nga pandemic. Tatta intawag ko ulit kanyana ket wen mabalin latta kunana. Isu nga tinawagak ni Apo IPMR Sugguiyao,” she narrated.

Dickpus was delighted that the event finally pushed through on January 19, where elders of Lubuagan and Lubo agreed to do the Sipat.

“Agpasalamat tayo ken Apo ta talaga nga inturong nan nga maaramid daytoy nga Bodong ti Lubuagan ken Lubo. Haan tayo nga padasen, talaga nga aramiden tayo, nu kunan tayo nga aramiden tayo maaramid met lang,” she expressed.

After the Sipat, the next process is the ‘bogga’ where holders go to their respective tribe to inform their tribesmen about the peace token which they received. After this, either of the tribes will first invite the other for Surdip to start the talk.

Once the Surdip process is done, formal celebration which include the formalization of the Bodong between the two tribes will happen.
