The CCTV footage showed Blas returning to the Zigzag area near Dam 2 inside the compound of Philex Mining Corporation at 5:30 p.m. on said day.

Search and rescue/retrieval teams have been scouring the training site and surrounding areas since then.

On July 30, a male cadaver was discovered floating in a river along Barangay Bolasi, San Fabian, Pangasinan, but no identification details were found and Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO)have yet to confirm whether the body is that of Blas pending DNA testing.

According to Benguet PPO, a special unit called ‘Task Force Blas’ was formed to locate him and they have expanded their search, following creeks from Barangay Ampucao to San Manuel, Pangasinan, including some parts of San Roque Dam.

The P200,000 reward offered by the family of Blas remains available for information leading to his location.
