TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A 27-year-old construction worker tagged as the fourth most wanted person in the Cordillera region was arrested in Rizal, Kalinga, on Tuesday morning, October 13, over the alleged rape of his minor stepdaughter.

The Kalinga Police Provincial Office (KPPO) said its intelligence unit served the warrant of arrest against the suspect in Barangay Bulbol, Rizal.

KPPO spokesperson PMaj. Ruff Manganip told GURU Press Cordillera that the suspect is facing a charge of qualified rape of a minor and was listed as the region’s No. 4 most wanted person for October 2026.

Police said the case stemmed from an alleged sexual assault on May 7, 2026. The suspect reportedly threatened to harm the minor if she disclosed the incident.

Authorities learned of the alleged crime after the victim’s aunt discovered what happened and reported the matter to the police.

A warrant of arrest was issued against the suspect in September 2026.

The suspect will remain in detention as no bail was recommended for his temporary release while the case is pending before the court.

Meanwhile, the KPPO reported that it arrested 45 wanted individuals during the third quarter of 2026 as part of its intensified campaign against wanted persons.
