5-yr.-old boy drowns in Pasil, Kalinga; Search and Rescue ongoing

Pasil, Kalinga – Various search and rescue teams along with the community are looking for the 5-year-old boy who reportedly drowned on Tuesday morning, September 30 in Pasil.

 

Initial report revealed that the victim was with a fellow two 8-year-old friends when he went to the Pasil River in Cagaluan around 9:20 in the morning today. While in the waters, the victim was swept away by strong currents.

That was the last time he was seen, as authorities who were alerted of the incident and who launched a search and rescue operation are yet to find the boy as of this writing.

 

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and the Municipal Health Office in Pasil who responded to the incident requested assistance from the PDRRMO and the Tabuk City DRRMO to help in the search and rescue efforts. Governor James Edduba immediately ordered the PDRRMO to help in the rescue efforts while the different barangays along the Chico River in Tabuk City were likewise ordered by the City LGU to a monitoring and river watch.
