RIZAL, Kalinga – A 22-year-old female motorcyclist from Bulanao, Tabuk City, was injured in a solo motorcycle accident along the Rizal–Solana Road in Barangay Liwan West, Rizal, Kalinga, on Friday morning, October 30.

According to the Rizal Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), the accident was reported at around 11:08 a.m. in front of the ongoing construction site of the Juan M. Duyan Memorial District Hospital.

The victim sustained multiple abrasions on her upper and lower extremities, as well as lacerations on her lower lip and left sole. She was responsive but complained of headache and dizziness following the incident.

The MDRRMO Emergency Medical Services Team Alpha responded to the scene, conducted an initial assessment, and administered first aid before transporting her to the Juan M. Duyan Memorial District Hospital for further medical treatment.

The MDRRMO classified the incident as a self-inflicted or solo motorcycle accident.

However, its initial report did not specify the cause or circumstances that led to the crash.

Following the incident, the MDRRMO reminded motorcycle riders to remain alert for sudden road hazards, including stray animals that may unexpectedly cross roads, particularly at night.

Riders were also advised to maintain safe speeds, use proper lighting, wear helmets, and stay vigilant while driving. Pet owners were urged to keep their animals secured to prevent them from wandering onto roads and causing accidents.
