Saclag clinches gold in 31st SEA Games

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Kickboxer Jean Claude “The Dynamite” Saclag from Lubuagan, Kalinga and Benguet succeeded in his golden feat, snatching the Philippine Team’s Fifth gold medal in the 31st Southeast Asian Games being held in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Saclag defeated on Friday, Thailand’s Chaleamlap Santidongsakun, 2-1, in the men’s low kick -63-kilogram final.

Meanwhile, Gina Iniong of Ph Team also snatched gold after beating Thailand’s Waraporn Jaiteang, 2-1, in the women’s low kick -60kg final.

The back-to-back gold medals bagged by the kickboxing team made the host country play the Philippine National Anthem while raising the flag.

Saclag’s recognition from Kalinga LGU

Saclag was earlier recognized by the Local Government Unit of Kalinga headed by Governor Ferdinand Tubban for bringing honor and prestige to the province.

As one of the 12 Outstanding yKalingas, Saclag was given a plaque, P50,000 cash incentive and a token by the PLGU for being a Gold Medalist in Kickboxing at the SEA Games 2019.
