Gonzaga, Cagayan – Suicide case was recorded anew in Cagayan, this time due to lovers’ quarrel.
The incident claimed the life of 26-year-old man on the evening of Friday, April 5, 2024.
Police identified the deceased as alias "Aries", a helper, and a resident of Gonzaga, Cagayan.
In his interview with local media, Police Corporal Albert Andres relayed that "Aries" might have killed himself due to his love life problems.
This conclusion comes after one of Aries’ neighbors told the authorities that he heard the two arguing, indicating misunderstanding between them.
Following their argument, the victim had a drinking spree with his two friends. When he was already intoxicated, his two buddies took him home.
At around 9:00 p.m. on the same day, Aries suddenly told his friends through chat that he will commit suicide.
However, his friends ignored it, thinking that he was just joking. The next day, April 6, Aries’ body was found hanging on a tree by his neighbor, who immediately informed his families.
Several attempts were made to save his life but he did not survive.
Meanwhile, police conclude no foul play in the incident since there were no signs that the victim was tortured.
