34-yr-old farmer dies after vehicle fell into ravine in Atok, Benguet

Atok, Benguet – A 34-year-old farmer died after the vehicle he was in fell into a 50-meter ravine, the afternoon of Tuesday, July 23.


According to Atok police, the accident happened along the barangay road in Langilang, Paoay, Atok, Benguet at around 4:40 p.m.


The victim named as Mark Aison Singlao, a resident of Balangabang, Atok, along with his helper, was headed to La Trinidad on said date.


Their vehicle was loaded with 30 sacks of California bell paper.


When they arrived at the accident scene, particularly at the ascending part of the road, the vehicle’s engine suddenly stopped.


The helper, identified as Adler Sarac, moved out of the vehicle to put a wedge by the tires for the vehicle to stop from moving backward. However, it did not stop the vehicle from rolling backward until it fell into a ravine about 5o meters deep.


Singlao, the driver, suffered from an open traumatic head injury that led to his death. His remains were no longer autopsied.
