28-yr.-old man in Kalinga shot by still unidentified assailant


Tabuk City, Kalinga – Barely an hour after he was shot by still unidentified assailant, a 28-year-old man from Pinukpuk died from his injuries at the Kalinga Provincial Hospital.

 

At around 6:30 p.m. on February 6, the victim identified by the police as Bennie Balutay of Apatan, Pinukpuk was traversing the road on a tricycle when he was attacked in Nambaran.


As noted in the initial investigation of the Tabuk City police, the victim was behind the tricycle driver, and as they reached Sitio Dawayan, a pickup described to be brown and maroon overtook their service vehicle.

 

It was then when one of the pickup’s passengers allegedly drew a short firearm and aimed at the victim, shooting him several times.

 

Unfortunately, the 28-year-old succumbed to his wounds at around 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

 

The pickup ferrying the supposed gunman was said to have gone in the direction of Agbannawag after the incident.

 

Hot pursuit operation and follow-up investigation are currently being conducted by the police.
