4 Men defying Tabuk City liquor ban caught drinking in the morning


Tabuk City, Kalinga – On its first day of lockdown, four individuals were caught in a drinking session morning of January 18 in Bulanao Centro, violating the prohibition of sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages.


Under the Executive Order issued by City Mayor Darwin Estrañero, Bulanao Centro is one among the four barangays in Tabuk which has been put into lockdown from January 18 – 22. With this, liquor ban was imposed.


Bulanao Centro Punong Barangay Cosme Gunnawa said that these individuals were caught drinking in the morning, “ti problema [pay] garud ket, bigbigat agin inom da.”


The barangay staff, he said, confiscated the liquor they were drinking, and warned them of the repercussions should they repeat the act.


“Then pinaikkan da daisuda iti first warning paylang. Pinagawid da daisuda ken pinagpirma da daisuda iti kasla promissory note dan ah nga haan da aramiden en,” he added.


Additionally, Gunnawa calls on the constituents of Bulanao Centro to follow the minimum health standards especially with the spike of Covid-19 cases in the city and also to avoid consuming alcoholic beverages especially when they share one glass in drinking.


“...bawat maysa kuma kanya tayo nga pamilya bantayan tayo dagitoy annak tayo, dagitoy kakabagian tayo ta haan da kuma nga agin inom pay ta dagitoy inom nu maminsan agsisinukat tayo iti baso ket malipatan tayon diyay safety tayon nu kasjay nga agin ininom tayo latta,” he said.


“Isu kuma iti pagmaymaysa an tayo amin nga iminimize daytoy panagruwar ruwar,” he added.


The Punong Barangay further appealed to the people to report to the barangay if they catch people in a drinking spree so the barangay will go and stop them.
