Coronation night for Tinglayan’s ‘Search for Tongrayan Umunno-unnoy Ambassador’ set on Dec. 19

Tinglayan, Kalinga – Youth who will serve as the voice of the Local Government Unit of Tinglayan in encouraging the active participation of the youth in government programs regarding health, environment, peace and order, disaster resiliency, social welfare, tourism, culture and arts in the municipality are set to be crowned this Monday, December 19.


The winners shall be the municipality’s ambassadors to promote the active participation of the youth.


Tinglayan LGU allocated an amount of P66,000 for the pageant’s winners. The schools represented by them will also receive a share of the total budget allocated for the search.

Vying for the crown are senior high school students of five secondary schools in the municipality which include Jeanette Claire Ladiocan, Keygie Bomon-As, Cherryline Dogui-is, John Mark Agyao, Trisha Mae Dangangao, Lester Bang-As, Kate Zairyne Bagay, Jayrone Manallog, Aphole Balutas and Ezekiel Busway.


Said participants are from Saint Theresita High School, Tinglayan National High School, Southern National High School, Southern Tinglayan National High School, and Bangad National High School.


Pre-pageant activities


As part of the pre-pageant, invited judges from various sectors and government agencies already visited the schools where the 10 participating students are from through the school awareness tour.

In this pre-pageant activity, schools are visited to know whether the said schools are implementing and supporting government programs that are not only beneficial to the welfare of their students, but to the municipality as well.


Other pre-pageant activities which include their videos for the Tongrayan Umunno-unnoy Advocacy Speech, School Awareness Tour, Tourism Promotion, and Product Promotion are already posted on the LGU’s Facebook page for voting.


Meantime, the search is set to be institutionalized as a proposed ordinance regarding the search was already crafted.
