As the much-awaited Panagbenga Festival's float parade and street dance of Baguio City draw near, the city is preparing for a surge of tourists who will come to see the lively events.

Thousands of people will converge in the city during the event and the authority has put no stone unturned to ensure both residents’ and visitors’ safety and security.

Scheduled for Saturday, February 24, and Sunday, February 25, the Panagbenga Grand Street Dance Parade and Grand Floral Float Parade promise to be spectacular displays of culture and creativity.

With seven groups participating in the street dance parade and 30 groups showcasing their artistic flair in the floral float parade, anticipation is running high among locals and tourists.

To manage the crowds and maintain order during the festivities, Baguio City has mobilized a security force of 3,000 police officers. Led by Police Major Rommel Quinio, Chief of City Operation Management, these personnel are tasked with enforcing security measures, including crowd control, traffic management, and emergency response readiness.

In coordination with event organizers, law enforcement agencies are implementing stringent security protocols along parade routes and key entry points into the city, such as Kennon Road and Marcos Highway.

Additionally, designated emergency lanes have been established to ensure the swift passage of emergency vehicles if needed.

While the excitement builds for the festival, authorities are also reminding attendees to remain vigilant against theft and to avoid carrying valuables and excessive cash.

The Baguio City Police Office continues to emphasize the importance of cooperation from both participants and spectators in adhering to security guidelines for a smooth and safe event experience.
