Lubuagan, Kalinga – The four-day Liga Kontra Droga of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Dangoy, Lubuagan is set to start tomorrow, March 30.
Said event will be participated by the youth from the different barangays in Lubuagan and from the Municipalities of Pasil and Balbalan, and are expected to be joining the volleyball and basketball tournament.
Dangoy SK Chairman Claydilyn Patao told Guru Press that the youths in Barangay Dangoy have been proposing for the conduct of a sports event in their locality. However, for the past years, she has been focused on empowering the youths through various seminars and other activities like clean-up drives.
Now that Kalinga’s Covid-19 Epidemic Risk Level remains at Alert level 1, Patao thought about granting the request of the youth sector of Dangoy.
“Isu iti ire-request da ta medyo stressed da kanu pay iti module. Idi pay lang nga agre-request da,” she said.
As support for the youth in Dangoy for them to gain news friends and bond with other youths in and outside Lubuagan, she coordinated with the SK officials of Lubuagan, Balbalan, and Pasil for the possible conduct of possible sports competition, and have gladly accepted the invitation.
Apart from the contested sports activities, the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Local Government Unit of Lubuagan would also be providing lectures during the first day of said event.
The SK Chairman explained that she incorporated a lecture activity in the event for the participants to be oriented and gain knowledge on salient laws, while practicing camaraderie through sports.
“Nu lecture kunam gamin ket kasla awan excitement da umay, isu nga iti inkastak insingit ko idiay liga ta adda da ken tapnu maganahan da nga agdengngeg,” she said.
The Liga Kontra Droga will conclude on April 2, 2022.
