Exciting events lined up for 2024 Kabinnulig Festival in Flora, Apayao

Flora, Apayao – As Flora’s 61st Foundation Day and Kabinnulig Festival draw near, Floranians are abuzz with anticipation, with the local government promising an experience filled with culture, sports, food, and community spirit.

Dates and venues are yet to be announced but a lineup of exciting activities was already outlined by the local government unit in a meeting held recently.

In the month-long celebration, the creativity and artistry of the Floranians will take center stage as they showcase their rich culture and biodiversity through the carabao parade and float competition.

The carabao parade will highlight the farmer’s best friend donning a creative costume, along with their owners while the float competition features grand floats depicting Flora’s natural wonders and cultural icons.

In the cultural competitions, locals and visitors alike will also immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Flora through traditional performances and presentations.

Held annually, sports competitions are also among the activities the public should not miss as teams from various barangays of Flora will battle in various sporting events, showcasing their athletic prowess, sportsmanship and teamwork.

Dance sport competitions shall also be featured to give way for Floranians who have innate talent in dancing showcasing grace, elegance, speed, power, high spirits, and romantic chemistry in dance routines and choreography.

Meantime, pageant enthusiasts will not be disappointed, as two events showcasing beauty and wit will be held one for children and one for young adults.

The Little Mr. and Ms. Flora will feature adorable young children while Libnos ken Taer ti Flora 2024 will look for the epitome of beauty, wit and masculinity in a group of young men and women joining the competition.

This year’s founding anniversary serves as the launching of the 'Search for Taer ti Flora' as the local government broadens its annual search for representatives to provincial, regional and even national pageants.

“Expect more announcements about the specific dates and times of these events in the coming weeks!” the local government wrote on their Facebook page.
