"Jealousy" one of possible motives why soldier shot wife, mother-in-law, and driver in Gamu, Isabela.

Gamu, Isabela - Authorities in Isabela are now considering “jealousy” as one of the possible motives of the 32-year-old soldier who killed three individuals inside the 5th Infantry Division Camp Melchor Dela Cruz in Gamu, Isabela last week.

In his interview with the media, Police Staff Sergeant Kennedy Gorospe, one of the investigators, said their initial findings revealed that the suspect, Sgt. Mark Angelo Ajel, was jealous of his wife’s driver - one of the victims.

The wife’s job was delivering fruits and vegetables to various places; thus, she was with the driver most of the time.

With the findings, based on the testimonies of the suspect’s relatives, police initially concluded that jealousy might have motivated Mark Angelo to commit the crime.

As of this writing, police are yet to confirm a definitive motive behind the shooting, but they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.

Meanwhile, Mark Angelo is currently under inquest proceedings and was charged on Friday, October 11 with parricide and two counts of murder.

As recalled, the shooting occurred on the afternoon of Thursday, October 10, where the suspect shot to death three individuals while they were inside the camp.

The victims were identified as the suspect’s wife, Erlinda Ajel, his mother-in-law, Lolita Ramos, and the driver of whom he was jealous, Rolando Amaba.
