16-yr.-old in Baggao, Cagayan hacked to death; root cause "puso ng saging"

Cagayan, Philippines – An ill feeling towards a 16-year-old boy accused of stealing ‘puso ng saging’ resulted into a hacking incident in Baggao, Cagayan recently.

 

Baggao Police Chief, PLtCol. Noriel Lacangan, through the Cagayan Provincial Information Office this May 15, narrated that the 35-year-old suspect in the hacking incident accused the 16-year-old victim of stealing his banana bud.  


The accusation led the suspect to hurt the boy. Thus, his case of physical injury filed by the minor’s parents against him.

 

Due to the case, the accused developed further ill feelings that when he saw the boy riding his motorcycle in Agamman Proper, he lost it and hacked the victim to death.

 

Authorities later responded to the incident after they were alerted by concerned citizens. However, the boy succumbed to his wounds and did not make it to the hospital.

 

The 35-year-old suspect, meantime, turned himself in to the police where he admitted the crime. The accused is detained at the PNP Baggao Station and will be answering to a murder charge.
