Man with Cal. 45 arrested for indiscriminate firing in Bangued, Abra

Bangued, Abra – Residents in Zone 6, Bangued, were alarmed by successive gunshots on Monday afternoon, May 26, 2025.

 

Having been alerted of an alleged indiscriminate firing past 4:00 p.m. on said date, personnel from the Bangued Municipal Police Station went to the place of incident to respond to the concern of residents.

 

The police were informed that the gunfire the residents heard emanated from the a certain house’s backyard.


As the police proceeded to the accused’s house, they saw the suspect holding a firearm, running away upon noticing the presence of the uniformed personnel. This prompted the cops to chase him, resulting in his arrest.

 

Recovered from the man, whose name was not revealed by the Abra Police Provincial Office, included a Norinco Cal. 45 with a chamber loaded and inserted with a magazine containing four live ammunition.

 

Another magazine assembly was also taken from the suspect’s sling bag, while six fired cartridge cases for Caliber 45 were discovered at the back door of the man’s residence. 

 

The suspect was taken to police custody to answer cases for alarm and scandal as well as violation of RA 10591 or the ‘Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act’.
