15 public schools in Conner, Apayao receive Smart TVs to boost digital learning

CONNER, Apayao – Fifteen public schools in the Municipality of Conner have received 43-inch Smart Televisions from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), providing teachers and students with modern learning tools to support interactive, technology-driven instruction.

The Smart TVs were formally turned over on July 7, 2026 through the initiative of Conner Mayor Atty. Jorico F. Bayaua, who sought assistance from PAGCOR as part of the local government's and the Department of Education-Apayao's (DepEd-Apayao) continuing efforts to strengthen the delivery of quality education in the municipality.

The recipient schools include Catub Elementary School, Ili National High School, Malama Integrated School, Talifugo National High School, Ili Elementary School, Talifugo Elementary School, Guinamgamman Integrated School, Mabaguio Elementary School, Guinaang National High School, Paddaoan Integrated School, Cubet Elementary School, Katablangan Integrated School, Lower Katablangan Elementary School, Manag Elementary School, and Ripang Elementary School.

The Smart TVs are expected to improve classroom instruction by giving teachers and learners better access to digital educational content, multimedia presentations, and interactive lessons, making learning more engaging and responsive to the demands of 21st-century education.

According to the LGU-Conner Public Information Office, Mayor Bayaua said he will continue coordinating with PAGCOR to secure additional Smart TVs so that the remaining public schools in the municipality can also benefit from the program.

The turnover forms part of broader efforts to strengthen public education in Apayao by equipping schools with learning technologies that enhance teaching and learning.

As more classrooms adopt digital teaching methods, DepEd-Apayao reaffirmed its commitment to expanding access to technology-enhanced education, expressing hope that investments such as these will improve student participation, strengthen learning outcomes, and better prepare young iApayaos with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
