Tanudan, Kalinga – The Municipality of Tanudan continues to assert its stand against insurgency, with no sightings of the New People’s Army (NPA) reported in the area as of March 2026, according to the Tanudan Municipal Police Station.

Said report was discussed by the town’s police during the presentation of the municipality’s peace and order status before members of the Municipal Peace and Order Council and the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council, chaired by Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag.

The MPOC and the MADAC held their first quarter meeting this April.

According to the local police, absence of NPA or other communist terrorist groups has been observed within their area of responsibility.

The police likewise said that they documented zero cases of atrocities against vital installations and public facilities. Additionally, there were no cases of extortion involving individuals or prominent personalities that have been recorded in the municipality so far.

These indicators, according to PNP-Tanudan, affirm that the town remains insurgency-free.

Additionally, crime statistics for the first two months of 2026 show that the municipality remains peaceful, with zero recorded crime incidents.

Police efforts to maintain peace and order in the municipality include continuous patrolling, increased police visibility, community dialogues, and regular information and education campaigns.

In a statement, Mayor Dagadag lauded the authorities for their hard work and sustained efforts in keeping Tanudan peaceful and free from insurgent influence. He also expressed gratitude for the continued cooperation of the communities and iTanudans in making the municipality a safe and peaceful place to live.
