Baguio City, Philippines – Rising boxing star Jenelyn “The Graceful Igorot” Olsim, who hails from Baguio City, triumphed in her debut fight in the United States of America on June 21, 2025.
Olsim faced Minneapolis’ veteran boxer Jessica Radtke Maltez in the Hollywood Fight Nights ring in Santa Ynez, California. Said boxing event featured matches from up-and-coming as well as world-ranked fighters.
The 28-year-old fighter conquered the international ring with her powerful jabs in the four-round bout. Two of the judges gave 38/38 score while the other one gave 39/37, giving the win to Olsim in a closely contested fight.
According to One Championship, the 28-year-old Igorota earned multiple medals in the Asian Games and SEA Games Muay Thai matches, prompting her to try other martial arts like wushu, a modern Chinese martial art that combines elements of performance and fighting.
In 2016, the Igorota striker stepped into the MMA and won her pro debut and joined Team Lakay in 2020 to train with the country’s top fighters after a brief run in ONE Warrior Series.
Additionally, in 2022, Olsim, an atomweight champ has proven that she belongs on the global stage after beating Brazilian standout Julie Mezabarba in the One Championship.
With her record and recent performance, Olsim is set for more opportunities to rise in the world of combative sports.
