58-yr.-old man in Sta. Praxedes, Cagayan dead on the spot after being run over by bus

Cagayan, Philippines - A 58-year-old resident of Brgy. Centro 2, in Santa Praxedes, Cagayan on Monday, May 5, 2025, was pronounced dead on the spot after he was run over by a bus.

Initial report from Cagayan Provincial Information Office disclosed that the victim, Alias Joselito, was walking along the highway when the bus driven by Alias Salveo, 39 years old, and resident of Laoag City was heading to Junction Libertad, Abulug, Cagayan when the tragic incident happened.

The report from the CPIO stated that while the bus was approaching, the man suddenly crossed the highway. The bus then hit the man and ran over his head, resulting in his immediate death.

Guru Press staff tried to reach out Sta. Praxedes Municipal Police Station for updates and to get information about the speed of the bus during the accident, but as of writing, there was no response from the Police.

The suspect is facing Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide.
