Tabuk City – Beauty, brains, and advocacy now take center stage for Kalinga as Natasha Pauline Batac officially makes history as the first-ever iKalinga representative to compete in the prestigious Miss Philippines Earth 2026.

Batac, who hails from Pinukpuk, is a registered nurse and an alumna of Saint Louis University. Her entry into the national pageant marks a historic milestone not only for Pinukpuk but for the entire province of Kalinga in the field of national pageantry and environmental advocacy.

Although no official historical records have yet been published, Natasha is widely regarded as the first representative from Kalinga to compete in Miss Philippines Earth — one of the country’s most prestigious pageants focused on environmental awareness and sustainability.

The young beauty queen was crowned Miss Kalinga Tourism 2026 during the coronation night held in February this year, earning the honor of representing Pinukpuk and the whole province on the national stage.

More than beauty, Natasha carries a strong environmental platform centered on environmental health, proper waste management education, and sustainable tourism — advocacies that closely align with the mission of Miss Philippines Earth.

Her participation was officially confirmed on April 16 through a Facebook post from the Miss Philippines Earth organization, formally introducing her as the representative of Pinukpuk, Kalinga in this year’s competition.

On the same day, Batac expressed pride and gratitude through her personal social media account, emphasizing that she carries not only Pinukpuk’s name but the entire Kalinga province in her journey.

“I may be carrying one name on my sash, but in my heart, I carry all of our seven municipalities and one city,” Batac shared.

“I’m stepping into this with one goal: to uplift, empower, and make a difference. This is for every iKalinga,” she added.

Established in 2001 by Carousel Productions, Miss Philippines Earth is a national beauty pageant that champions environmental protection, sustainability, and community-based action. Candidates are trained to become environmental ambassadors promoting eco-friendly practices and awareness campaigns nationwide.

For this year’s edition, 33 candidates from different provinces across the country were formally introduced during the pageant presentation streamed on May 10. The winner will succeed reigning queen Joy Barcoma of Cavite.

Meanwhile, Natasha’s participation highlights the growing recognition of indigenous and provincial representation in national pageantry, as supporters hope the proud iPinukpuk beauty queen will continue to elevate Kalinga culture, identity, and advocacy on the national stage.
