35-yr.-old farmer in Quezon, Isabela arrested for rape and three counts of sexual assault of minor

Quezon, Isabela – A 35-year-old man accused of sexually abusing a minor was arrested in Quezon, Isabela on Monday, April 14, police reported.


The suspect, identified by the alias “Miko,” is a farmer and a resident of Barangay Turod, Quezon.


Although police did not disclose when the incidents occurred, the suspect is facing multiple charges, including two counts of qualified rape of a minor and three counts of sexual assault.


Under Republic Act No. 8353, or the Anti-Rape Law of 1997, rape is defined as sexual intercourse or penetration committed through force, threat, or intimidation.


On the other hand, sexual assault refers to acts of sexual abuse without penetration, such as unwanted touching.


According to a report from the Quezon Municipal Police Station, the operation was carried out by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 23 in Roxas.


The arrest was conducted by operatives of the Quezon MPS in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Isabela Police Provincial Office, the 3rd Maneuver Platoon of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2, the Isabela Police Intelligence Team, and Regional Mobile Unit 2.


The suspect was turned over to the court handling the cases following proper documentation and disposition.
