Tabuk City – More than ₱1.26 billion in benefit claims was released to members of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation across the Cordillera Administrative Region from March 31 to April 28, 2026, highlighting the continued distribution of healthcare reimbursements for hospitalization and other medical services in the region.

According to PhilHealth-Cordillera, a total of ₱1,260,178,703.02 in benefit claims was paid during the period. These claims cover approved medical expenses such as hospital confinement, surgeries, laboratory tests, medicines, maternity care, and other healthcare services.

Specific program payouts were also released, including ₱133,791,317.40 under PhilHealth YAKAP and ₱2,781,998.21 under PhilHealth GAMOT.

PhilHealth benefit claims are reimbursements paid to hospitals, healthcare providers, or members to help cover medical costs once claims are approved.

In its latest report, PhilHealth also noted faster claims processing and increased reimbursements nationwide. In January 2026 alone, the agency released more than ₱107.47 billion in medical claims — higher than the amount released during the same period last year.

Meanwhile, Cordillera recorded an average claims processing time of only 13 days, significantly faster than the 60-day national standard, reflecting quicker reimbursements and improved efficiency in the region.

Based on PhilHealth enrollment figures, Benguet continues to have the highest number of members in the Cordillera, followed by Baguio City, Kalinga, and Abra. Ifugao and Mountain Province recorded lower membership figures, while Apayao had the least number of members due to its smaller population.

PhilHealth-Cordillera said the latest figures reflect the agency’s continuing efforts to strengthen healthcare access and provide timely financial assistance to members throughout the region.
