SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela — A 33-year-old carpenter was arrested in San Mateo, Isabela after he was allegedly linked to the online posting of intimate photos of his former girlfriend, police said.

The suspect, identified as alias “Mario,” single and a resident of Barangay Salinungan West, San Mateo, was arrested on August 26, 2026 during the implementation of a Warrant to Search, Seize and Examine Computer Data (WSSECD).

The operation was conducted by the Sabangan Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit–Mountain Province (RACU-MP) and the San Mateo Municipal Police Station. The warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, Branch 36 in Bontoc, Mountain Province.

Police recovered a Techno Spark smartphone from the suspect, which was inventoried in his presence. Authorities said the device was among the evidence recovered during the operation.

The suspect is allegedly involved in uploading sensitive photographs of his former girlfriend, with whom he reportedly had a three-year relationship. He is facing a possible violation of Republic Act No. 9995, or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009.

After the operation, the suspect was scheduled to be brought to the Sabangan Police Station for documentation before being turned over to the court that issued the search warrant.

The case involving the San Mateo suspect remains under investigation, and the allegations against him have yet to be resolved in court.
