TANUDAN, Kalinga — Recognizing the intelligence, skills, and potential of today’s younger generation, Tanudan Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag urged the youth to use their gifts to build a brighter future and steer clear of groups whose ideologies could put their lives, communities, and future at risk.

The local chief executive delivered the message through his son, Kyle Dagadag, during the Linggo ng Kabataan celebration in Banagao, Poblacion, on August 22. The event was attended by more than 300 fun run participants from different parts of the province, along with young people from Tanudan.

Dagadag emphasized that the youth are more than simply the “pag-asa ng bayan.” He described them as active partners in governance and community development, particularly because of their involvement in activities within their communities.

‘Use your gifts wisely’

While recognizing the potential of the youth, Dagadag cautioned them against using their abilities in ways that could harm themselves, their communities, and their future.

His message called on the younger generation to make wise choices and channel their intelligence, creativity, and courage toward constructive activities that benefit their communities.

Small steps, big change

Dagadag also encouraged Tanudan’s youth not to underestimate the value of their small contributions to society.

He reminded them that meaningful change does not always begin with grand actions, but can grow from simple good deeds consistently practiced every day.

Dagadag concluded his message by assuring the youth of his continued commitment to supporting programs and initiatives aimed at improving the welfare, opportunities, and future of Tanudan’s younger generation.

For the mayor, the challenge is clear: the youth already possess the talent, intelligence, and courage to shape their communities—their choices will determine where those gifts will lead them.
