FREE CONCERTS: Baguio City to host World Music Festival on June 28

Baguio City, Philippines - A symphony of sounds will soon resonate in the Summer Capital as the World Music Day Festival lands anew in the city, bringing together artists, culture, and community through the universal language of music. 

 

Set for June 28, 2025, at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center, this year’s World Music Day Festival promises an exciting lineup of free musical performances open to the public, to be performed by various music bands and icons from across the country. 

 

Rooted in the French origins of “Fête de la Musique,” which means festival of music, the event began in 1982 in France with the vision to make music accessible to everyone. 

 

The festival was launched in the Philippines in 1994 through the collaboration of Funkybeat Entertainment, Sigaw ng Kuwago, the Alliance Française de Manille, and the Embassy of France. 

 

In support of music, art, and tourism, Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong issued Executive Order No. 53, s. 2025, officially declaring June 28 as World Music Day in Baguio.

 

According to the city’s Information Office, Baguio’s World Music Day will feature various bands and new faces and familiar names in the music industry. 

 

These include the Bird, Brass Pas Pas Pas Pas, Uncle Bob’s Funky Seven Club, Tilapayaso, Silent Disco, Leona Lane, Medyo Maybe, What R U Wearing, Cavesought, Baldo, and Eggboy, among others.
